Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth dating back to the Nara period (710-794 AD). Originally, this cloth was used to wrap valuables. As public bathhouses became more popular, the cloth was used to wrap one's clothes while taking a Furo, or steam bath. Today, the furoshiki lives on as a wrapping cloth for gifts and bento.

We recommend hand washing for the first several times to prepare them for eventual machine wash.
